MEET DIXIE

Dixie Gong found her way into holistic aesthetics inspired to use her hands as a therapeutic modality. Growing up along the coast of Vancouver Island, she explored her creativity through nature, writing, film and music, imparting in her a poetic understanding of expression and movement. Prior to starting her own practice, Dixie studied English literature, worked as a freelance writer & editor in the fields of fashion and music, and then in floral design. The desire to work evermore with her hands and share her energy and touch with others led her to the realms of organic skincare and wellness. She attended aesthetics school and trained extensively with Julie Clark, the founder of Province Apothecary, where she learned holistic aesthetics, aromatherapy, as well as the art of product formulation and compounding. There, she utilized the best nature has to offer: wildcrafted and organic flowers, herbs, waxes, oils, clays and grains sourced as locally and ethically as possible.

One flower in particular, Helichrysum Italicum, also known as Immortelle, Everlasting and Sun Gold, captivated her for its remarkable therapeutic value and symbolic origins. As its various names imply, the Immortelle flower reveals bright yellow petals that persist in colour, fragrance, and potent regenerative benefits long after being harvested. There is an indescribable depth to its aromatic and topical healing properties which Dixie found special affinity with, and so the name has come to embody her practice.

But this isn’t just about one flower, nor is this just about skin. It’s about honouring what nature offers us and finding our place in it. It’s about the will to bloom. The desire for transformation. A container to feel safe in. A means to explore our deepest self. A shift in mood. A shift in confidence. Finding everything you need within.

Over the last 8 years, Dixie has immersed herself in holistic skincare and the treatment room, touching hundreds of faces and helping people attune themselves to their skin and innermost selves without invasive intervention. Hands wide open, she looks forward to connecting with you.
